Question

What's the last book you read?

I recently finished "Julie and Julia," the book that inspired the movie about one woman's quest to cook every recipe in Julia Child's remarkable "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." As is usually the case, the book was much better than the movie (although Meryl Streep's performance is not to be missed).

But back to the book, it chronicled one woman's struggles with a dead-end job, turning 30 and her body's rapidly ticking biological clock. I applaud Julie's dedication to the Project (as it's called in the book), and she shared some of the most personal details about her life, which always makes for a better read. However, the book will make you want to drink copious amounts of wine and gimlets (her drink of choice), and it will reintroduce you to the joys of butter. Ahhh, butter. So, if you're struggling to diet or cut back on your own drinking, it might not be the best book for you!

Have you read it? What did you think? What else have you read lately? I'm always looking for new suggestions!
