Elaine's Pink October Blog
Posted October 9, 2009, 10:44 amOctober marks a very special month for Women Playing For T.I.M.E. We celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness and all the progress that has been made. At Women Playing For T.I.M.E., we are so busy hosting events like golf and tennis to Fine Dining with Saks and Dragon Boat Racing!
But on October 1st, Women Playing For T.I.M.E. kicked off Pink October with a very special celebration - the grand opening of our two new Siemens digital mammography suites at Orlando Health- M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando!

Most of you are aware that this important technology has been on our list of funding priorities. We have once again accomplished one of our most important goals by providing access to state-of-the-art digital mammography for the people of Central Florida. We waited a long time to find the right technology and I’m proud to tell you it’s finally arrived!
During the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, our dear friend Dr. Terrance M. Gross, MD, who is the Section Chief – Women’s Imaging for the Department of Radiology at Orlando Health said this about Women Playing For T.I.M.E.:
“I am grateful to have come to know many of the remarkable women who have dedicated much of their time, talent and treasure toward the cause of WPFT. The radiologists and staff of Women's Imaging at Orlando Health appreciate this opportunity recognizing that their financial support comes at an important time of great need. We pledge to continue to provide high quality, compassionate care for the many thousands of women and men we serve.”

The Digital Mammography Suites are a dream come true for Women Playing For T.I.M.E. But, there was another surprise to come during the celebration that simply capped off the entire event.
Dr. Joseph G. Andriole and his team from the Medical Center Radiology Group presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to Women Playing For T.I.M.E. Did you know that Dr. Andriole and the Medical Center Radiology Group have made annual donations to Women Playing For T.I.M.E. since our inception 17 years ago? Their generosity is overwhelming, and I am deeply grateful for their continued support.
Hopefully Pink October will continue to be as exciting…
Much Love,
EL
