1. Tell us about the best time you ever had as a Pink Dragon Boat paddler.

For me, I have been fortunate to be one of the founding members of this amazing team of women and just to see it all come together and to see the sisterhood and bonding and empowerment that is already taking place is just beyond my hopes and dreams. I think the best time is yet to come when we cross that finish line on October 17 ... it really doesn’t matter whether we come in first or come in last ... we are already winners!

2. What are your hobbies or passions? When you're not paddling, what do you like to do?

I have a four-year old grandson who is the light of my life and I just enjoy seeing the world through his eyes.

3. What famous person – past or present – would you like to have dinner with? Why? Where?

Walt Disney. As a former Disney cast member for 30 years, I think it would have been amazing to have known him. And where would we have dinner . . . why Cinderella’s Castle, of course!

4. Who has had the most powerful influence on you? Why?

I have been very blessed to have had many positive influences in my life, both personally and professionally, but I would have to say my 25-year old son, Matthew. He started on a spiritual journey over the last year and the amazing transformation that he has made in his life has also allowed me to go on my own spiritual journey alongside him. And really, we all know where the powerful influence comes from, don’t we?

5. Tell us about your family?

I have an awesome family, I don’t even know where to begin. My husband Mike and I have been together for 18 years. We finally got married six years ago and four months after our wedding I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Who would have thought that we would be tested so quickly with “for better or worse, in sickness and in health.” I have a beautiful daughter, Elizabeth, and a wonderful son, Matthew, and as I mentioned before, my grandson, Aidan, who is the light of my life. I have two brothers and a sister who live here in Central Florida and a brother who lives in Illinois with his family and my Mom. We have a very close-knit family and enjoy spending time together.
