Dragon boat mini- regatta in Tampa

A week ago I had never been in a dragon boat and this morning I particated in a min-regatta in Tampa. Wonders never cease.
As WPFT is sponsoring our awesome WOW Pink Dragon Boat team, I have become more interested in just what this is. Last week Kat and the team welcomed me to practice with the team in Tavares. Thank heavens or today could have been a disaster for me.
Orlando Rowing Club, one of WPFT's valued partners, has put together a dragon boat to race in the WDW International Festival on Oct 17th. So we trouped over to Tampa this morning - had to be there at 7:30am for our virgin race.
What a blast. We were not very good on the first race and came in third. But in the second race, the ORC team did you proud. We got it together, came in first and missed racing a third time by .02 of a second.
It is really fun and will be a great sport and fitness opportunity once Central Florida gets its own boat. It involves coordination, conditioning (can build) synchonisity, valued coaching and then POW you work together and fly thru the water.
