9 -11: a date most people will remember always, but for me the date is a dichotomy.  The nation mourns the death of  thousands of American citizens, but it is also the date I was finally declared cancer free.

This September 11th was my 3rd anniversary and, as usual, I struggled with the duality. How could I celebrate on a date that is a national day of mourning?  Friends an family always encourage me to rejoice, but I really haven't found the right approach.

The best I have been able to manage is to wake up and breathe a sigh of relief that another year has passed cancer free; and then I say a prayer for those who lost their lives on this day, and I pray for some measure of peace for their families and friends.
