Marybeth Maida survived her battle with breast cancer. She was so touched by the kindness of others throughout her ordeal she wanted to find a way to give back. She wanted to give something to others that she wished she would have had for herself.
Facing chemotherapy, she knew she would lose her hair, but she did not expect many of the other things that happened. She decided to use her experience as a journalist to create a book that addresses spiritual and emotional issues, but also to focus on ways for women to look as natural and healthy as possible through their ordeal.
She teamed up with noted cosmetologist Debbie Kiederer and wrote "Beauty Pearls for Chemo Girls," considered the first beauty bible for cancer patients.
